    David Lewin Papers

There is now an extensive finding aid to the David Lewin Papers in the Library of Congress Music Division. It is available on line here:

David first expressed his desire to donate his papers to LoC following the Babbitt Symposium in 1998. He said he liked the idea of having his Nachlass near Milton's. The material arrived at LoC in 2005. It was sorted with extensive notes by Paul Sherill from Yale in 2008 and Andrew Chung from Yale in 2014. Final arrangement into 65 boxes and the truly excellent finding aid were done by Nancy Seeger, music archivist at LoC. It's really necessary to credit names here because, as you all will understand, this collection had an unusually large amount of "technical" material. Special thanks must also go to Rick Cohn at Yale and Kate Rivers at LoC for "pushing" the project through to completion.
